HOW TO CUT AN AVOCADO

Today I’m going to share just a quick little tip that has changed my world. It has only been recently that I have decided I like avocado. As long as I can remember I have liked guacamole but have really struggled with eating avocados. That all changed when I learned this little tip. Whether you want to cut an avocado into slices, for something like a sandwich or an omelet, or chunks for salsa, these same steps apply. I hope this revolutionizes avocados for you too!

DIRECTIONS:

  • Step 1

Wash avocado. Using a large knife cut avocado in half and remove pit.

  • Step 2

For thin slices: With pit removed, lay avocado face up. Slice avocado from end to end using the tip of the knife, cutting to the peel but not through it,  every 1/8″-1/4″.

For chunks:With pit removed, lay avocado face up. Slice avocado from end to end using the tip of the knife, cutting to the peel but not through it,  every 1/4″-1/2″. Turn avocado and cut side to side following the same manner making a checkerboard pattern.

  • Step 3

Push on the outer peel of the avocado to turn it inside out. This will loosen the pieces you have just cut and they should pop right out.

Try adding avocado to something new today!
