The Superbowl is just over a week away. Although I am not big on appetizers and finger foods I thought I would share a favorite at our house. This super easy recipe makes a great half time treat, or if you are like me a great anytime dinner. It is basically a taco on chips. So whether you will be licking the sauce off of your fingers in the coming days or needing dinner for the little ones at home, these Macho Nachos will be a crowd favorite for any occasion.


Yield: 4 servings

Time: 20 minutes


  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 1/2 lb hamburger
  • 1/2 taco seasoning packet
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can black beans
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 avocado
  • variety of shredded cheeses
  • salsa

optional add ons:

  • 1 can corn
  • lettuce
  • 2 c pre-cooked rice


  • Step 1

Brown hamburger over medium high heat. Season with 1/2 package taco seasoning Add onion and saute until tender.

Add canned diced tomatoes to meat and heat until warmed.

  • Step 2

Prepare black beans, rice, corn. Wash and chop tomatoes, avocado and lettuce.

Place tortilla chips on plate. Top with desired toppings.
